Mihály Harcos

I am a senior associate leading the tax law group of the Budapest office. Beyond general tax law consulting, I specifically focus on tax planning for transactions and intra-group restructurings spanning multiple countries, as well as tax litigation.

I am highly experienced in providing assistance on a wide range of tax matters for local and international companies across a broad spectrum of industries, including energy, IT, telecommunication and real estate.

I also regularly represent my clients in their disputes with the tax authorities, from tax audits through administrative appeals to court proceedings, including representation of clients before the European Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of Hungary.

Over the years, I have been recognised as a highly regarded lawyer by the ITR World Tax.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I led the tax litigation practice of a Big4 company. Prior to that I was director at a global tax services and software provider.

In addition to my native Hungarian, I am fluent in English.
