For more than two months now, contracting authorities and public buyers have been operating under the new rules introduced by the amendment of the Public Procurement Act. The Amendment introduces several key changes that impact procurement procedures in Slovakia.

The main changes include:

  • Increase in financial thresholds for contracts falling outside the Public Procurement Act, raised from €10,000 to €50,000 excluding VAT.
  • Changes in the participation requirements.
  • Changes in the control of public contracts financed by EU funds.
  • Adjustments to the procurement of "below-threshold contracts".
  • Modifications in review procedures, aimed at expediting and simplifying the review process.

In addition, the amendment introduces various procedural simplifications to enhance the efficiency of public procurement.
