Bill on implementation of the Pay Transparency Directive sent for consultation.

The government has now sent a bill for external consultation, proposing a comprehensive revision of the Danish Act on Equal Payment. The aim is to implement the EU Pay Transparency Directive (2023/970) into Danish law.

The bill is proposed to enter into force on 1 January 2027, which means that the directive will not be implemented within the deadline of 7 June 2026.

The consultation deadline is 27 March 2026, but as a general election was called yesterday, it is unclear whether the consultation will be carried out and when a final draft bill will be adopted.

At Bird & Bird, we are following the process closely and will send out a more in-depth newsletter when the bill is ready for adoption.

The bill can be found here.
