Carlos Zabala

I am a senior associate in Bird & Bird's International HR Services department in the Madrid office.

Since the beginning of my professional career, I have been dedicated to the field of employment law, which I find exciting due to its dynamism and the opportunities for improvement that it offers our clients. For this reason, one of the great advantages of being part of the Bird & Bird team is that, unlike other law firms, Bird & Bird has a multidisciplinary team and an extensive international network, which allows us to offer all our clients comprehensive and coordinated advice.

During my years of professional experience, I have advised a number of clients, both nationally and internationally, on all types of employment law matters, including: restructuring processes, internal flexibility processes, outsourcing processes and company successions in relation to the labor implications thereof, collective bargaining, legal assistance before the social jurisdiction in all its instances, union elections, termination of employment contracts, drafting of employment contracts for ordinary workers and top management, among others.

In addition, I have actively participated in the field of collective labour relations, from the perspective of both technical labour advice and direct intervention in the negotiations. Collective relations is one aspect of my work that I particularly enjoy.

In recent years, I have also worked on M&A procedures and corporate restructuring, advising clients on the labour and social security aspects during the acquisition or sale of companies.

Within my professional career, I have advised companies in many sectors, such as, telecommunications, construction, insurance, services, food, contact center sector, outsourcing, industrial, etc.
