Felix Poppenberg

As an associate in our Finance & Financial Regulation Practice Group located in Frankfurt, I advise international and national clients on finance and regulatory matters.

My focus lies with corporate, acquisition and project finance as well as the regulation of credit institutions, investment firms and payment service providers. I advise both established companies and start-ups on all areas of banking regulatory law and its interdependence with digitalisation, including new and market-transforming technologies, such as blockchain or distributed ledgers.

I also support our clients from various industries, such as financial services, payment services, e-commerce, insurance, fintech, insurtech and regtech, in developing and implementing new business models, particularly with regard to regulatory issues. I advise on all matters relating to regulated intermediary activities (such as insurance and loan brokerage or real estate brokerage) and money laundering law.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I completed my legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Münster with stages, inter alia, at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in Berlin, and at law firms in Cologne as well as Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
