Imogen Kelso

I am an Associate in our Intellectual Property Group in London. I have experience in a wide range of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on patent disputes in the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector.

I have experience across a number of areas of IP, with a primary focus on contentious IP matters.

I often work with clients in the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector. My previous experience includes acting for pharmaceutical companies on patent matters concerning vaccines, small molecules and medical devices. I have also previously advised life sciences clients on regulatory and commercial issues.

I have worked on patent disputes in the High Court and Court of Appeal. I also have experience acting for global pharmaceutical companies coordinating multi-jurisdictional patent actions. In addition, I have assisted clients with oppositions at the European Patent Office.

My background in biochemistry allows me to better understand the technical side of life sciences disputes and I particularly enjoy delving into the scientific background of patent cases.

In addition to patent work, I also advise clients on copyright, trade marks and designs. I also have experience acting for clients on IP matters in other sectors including Technology & Communications, Retail & Consumer and Media, Entertainment and Sport.
