Petra Römers

As a lawyer in our IP practice group, I advise our national and international clients on all aspects of patent law from our office in Dusseldorf. My work is focused on patent infringement proceedings.

I studied law at the University of Cologne and completed my legal internship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne. I developed an interest in intellectual property during my studies in the main area of intellectual property and competition law. I was able to gain initial experience in intellectual property law before and during my legal internship at an international commercial law firm.

Moving away from general intellectual property law, I specialize in patent law in my current position. I am particularly concerned with the new Unified Patent Court (UPC), which will significantly change patent proceedings in Europe.
