Pia-Maria Panula

I am an associate in our Dispute Resolution group in Helsinki, where I advise our clients on complex dispute resolution matters.

I advise our clients on matters related to litigation and arbitration. Furthermore, I advise our clients in corporate crime cases.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird I worked as an in-house legal counsel at a travel and leisure business. In this role, I was broadly responsible for the company's legal matters, especially related to contract law, real estate law, and corporate law. I also completed a one-year training on the bench at the District Court of Helsinki. This experience has proven to be highly valuable in my current work in dispute resolution and litigation.

My experience as an in-house legal counsel is advantageous when assisting our clients, as it has provided me with valuable experience in a business-oriented and solution-focused approach. I strive to understand how individual assignments relate to the client's overall business. Due to my experience, in addition to dispute resolution, I also assist our clients with contractual matters related to real estate and construction, as well as insolvency procedures.

In addition to Finnish, I speak fluent English.
