Raquel Alcantara

I am a junior associate at Bird & Bird's Madrid office in the banking and finance department.

I specialise in providing legal and regulatory advice on financial transactions and financial regulation.

I have participated in various financial transactions, including both domestic and cross-border corporate financing, real estate financing, project finance, venture debt, and refinancing and restructuring proceedings, advising both lenders and borrowers, as well as in bond issuances and other capital markets transactions, advising issuers and investors.

Additionally, I provide regulatory advice to investment firms, investment funds, fund managers, credit institutions, payment institutions, electronic money institutions and insurers in relation to their incorporation, authorisation, and the provision of domestic and cross-border financial services.

I hold a law degree from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), a master's degree for admission to the Bar, a master's degree in corporate law from Universidad de Navarra and a Master of Laws (L.L.M) in corporate and commercial law from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
