Bill for amendment and supplement to the Electronic Communications Act (the Bill) has been submitted for public consultations until 15 January 2024. The Bill aims to implement the Digital Services Act. In connection with the implementation, the transitional and final provisions of the Bill envisage a number of amendments to other legislative acts as well.

The Bill envisages that the Communications Regulation Commission will be appointed as a DSC.
According to the Bill, other authorities will also deal with the implementation of the Digital Services Act. These are:
Тhe Communications Regulation Commission was appointed as a DSC by Decision No. 405 / 13.6.2024 of the Council of Ministers (Decision is available in Bulgarian on the following link: https://pris.government.bg/document/546ae73fc67664f8e2087e4c805894bc).
Although the amendments to the local legislation have not yet been adopted, the Communications Regulation Commission has already started applying its functions as a DSC. There is also a designated section in their webpage with possibility to submit complain under the DSA.
