Initial steps taken / early stages of implementation
The Italian government approved the first draft of the legislative decree to implement the Directive on 5 February 2026.
The review and discussion process will continue over the next few weeks, with a formal debate scheduled for mid-February. This will ensure that the Directive is implemented in time for the deadline of 7 June 2026.
