StandOUT

standOUT logo

StandOUT was established to represent the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer+) experience at Bird & Bird, and promote equality and inclusion in the workplace for LGBTQ+ staff and allies. It provides a supportive community for members to share experiences, thoughts, insights and ideas on LGBTQ+ inclusion, as well as the broader culture of our firm. The network:

  • is a safe space for people to explore and discuss LGBTQ+ inclusion, both within and outside of the workplace
  • celebrates, and raises awareness of, the experiences and historical moments of importance of LGBTQ+ communities (e.g. LGBTQ+ History Month, Pride)
  • provides guidance to Bird & Bird leadership to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion in the firm’s policies, activities, communications and overall D&I approach

Memberships

  • Legal Best - we are part of Legal Best, a group of law firms which encourages members of staff to engage with LGBTQ+ inclusion through organising events, networking opportunities and forums for discussion.
  • Stonewall Diversity Champions - we are members of the Stonewall Diversity Champions scheme
