Group litigation on behalf of 11 high net worth individuals: in respect of HMRC's challenge to a tax avoidance scheme that was designed to generate losses which could then be applied to the individual's income to reduce their tax liabilities.

Personal service company provider: in relation to its challenge by way of judicial review of HMRC's refusal to destroy their work product derived from information and documents disclosed to them pursuant to an Information Notice. The Notice was deemed by the tax tribunal to be unlawfully issued during the course of an investigation under the Managed Service Company legislation.

Private air charter business: in relation to HMRC’s challenges to, inter alia, the company’s surrender of losses for group relief and recovery of VAT on the business use of its aircraft. After lengthy negotiations, we agreed a settlement position with HMRC which saved the company millions of pounds.

Manufacturer and distributor of construction materials: in respect of a successful claim for remission of Anti-Dumping Duties paid on its import of fasteners following a partial interim review of the measures in place that indicated the fasteners fell outside the scope of the ADD measures.

Pharmaceutical company: in respect of accelerated payment notices ("APN") and follower notices ("FN") issued by HMRC in relation to the company's remuneration schemes which were aimed at incentivising key employees. We submitted representations in respect of the APN's and FN's and were successful in having some of the notices withdrawn.
