Bird & Bird tax disputes partner named on International Tax Review's Tax Controversy Leaders 2017 list

Bird & Bird tax disputes partner, Andy Brown, has been named in the International Tax Review's Tax Controversy Leaders 2017 (7th Edition) for the UK. Tax Controversy Leaders is a guide to the leading tax dispute resolution lawyers and advisers in the world. Inclusion in the guide is based on a minimum number of nominations received, evidence of outstanding success in the past year and consistently positive feedback from peers and clients.

Andy is recognised as one of the leading tax disputes practitioners in the UK, specialising in complex tax investigations, cases involving tax fraud and high profile tax disputes. Andy and our tax disputes team joined Bird & Bird in February this year to fulfil the strategy of Bird & Bird's International Dispute Resolution group to be leaders in cross-border and complex disputes in all of the firm's sectors.

Andy says: "I am delighted to be recognised as a Tax Controversy Leader. The global response to tax evasion and disputes is changing; more powers and resource are being given to tax authorities. This means the likelihood of being caught up in a dispute surrounding tax is far greater for a wider range of people and businesses. Our UK and international presence means we can react to issues globally and have our team ‘on the ground’ swiftly to assist our clients in managing their response to allegations, discovery or tax investigations."
