Unpacking the EU Data Act - Where are we now?

The European Data Act aims to strengthen the EU’s digital economy by broadening access to industrial data for both businesses and consumers. It aims to enhance competition in the cloud market by facilitating smoother transitions between service providers. On 19 November 2025, the European Commission unveiled its first set of proposals as part of a broader effort to streamline Europe’s digital regulatory framework.
