The MiCAR officially came into force in June 2023 and will begin to apply from 30 June 2024 and 30 December 2024. This new regulation covers crypto-assets that are currently outside the scope of existing financial services legislation. The key provisions apply to those issuing and trading crypto-assets, including asset-reference tokens and e-money tokens, and they cover crucial areas such as transparency, disclosure, authorisation, and supervision of transactions.
Our webinar series provided an in-depth exploration of the MiCAR, led by our expert Financial Regulatory team. The sessions provided guidance on a wide array of issues associated with the new regulations, ensuring your business is well-equipped to adapt. Each webinar was tailored to focus on a specific aspect of the MiCAR, from understanding the different types of tokens to the regulation of service providers and issuers, as well as comparisons with existing regulations like MiFID II.
