On 1 July 2024, a new Consumer Protection Act came into force in Slovakia, which repeals and replaces some of the existing consumer protection regulations, in particular Act No. 250/2007 Coll. on Consumer Protection and Act No. 102/2014 Coll. regulating the sale of goods or provision of services under a contract concluded at a distance and off-premises.
The Civil Code has also undergone a significant change, containing detailed requirements for goods, claims and key terms related to digital content.
