International law firm Bird & Bird has reappointed Graeme Maguire as Chair, effective from 1 April 2023.
Graeme was first appointed Chair at the start of the pandemic in 2020 and has been involved in the firm's leadership and development since joining the firm as a partner in 2005. During his last term, Graeme has successfully led Bird & Bird’s CEO election planning and transition process for our first change of CEO in 26 years, helped embed D&I at the heart of the firm’s strategy by creating the D&I Leadership Group and played an important role in binding people together around Bird & Bird’s unique culture during and after the pandemic.
As a leading expert in international regulatory and commercial technology and communications, Graeme has worked with many of the world’s largest technology and communications companies on strategic international transactions and regulatory issues for the past 25 years. He continues to lead the firm’s relationships with many of these businesses today, working closely with them to deliver on global projects.
He is the founder of the firm's international Tech & Comms sector group, which he led from 2014 to 2018, having been co-head of the former Communications group since 2010. Graeme also served on the firm's Global Board from 2015 to 2017 and Strategy Committee from 2015 to 2019.
