On 24 October, the Warsaw ESG and Environmental Protection team launched a series of meetings for students – the Bird & Bird ESG Academy.
The Bird & Bird ESG Academy is a tailored program for students interested in this topic and who would like to deepen their knowledge related to Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) matters. Our initiative not only seeks to disseminate knowledge but also to provide practical insights into how ESG issues translate into legal and business practices. The event will occur every first and third Tuesday of each month until June 2024.
During 16 sessions, our experts share their ESG knowledge, its impact on legal and business environments, and discuss the challenges and trends associated with implementing sustainable development strategies within organizations. Participants takes part in discussions and workshops as we aim to inspire them to actively engage during our sessions. We believe that active dialogue, the exchange of perspectives, and brainstorming sessions will facilitate a better understanding and absorption of ESG concepts, while also fostering personal growth in this area. We create a space where each participant can contribute their insights and create inspiring solutions that may influence the future of business and law in the context of sustainable development.
We will introduce our initiative and the Polish approach to ESG to a wider, international group. So, after each session we will briefly present a summary of the best ideas, thoughts, and practices, as a Polish contribution to the broader discussion within the Bird & Bird network and as a small contribution to the discussion on ESG worldwide.
The event is dedicated to students studying law, journalism, political science, marketing, economics, finance, accounting, and related fields to explore the latest ESG trends and practices and see how these issues manifest in the legal and business spheres. This program allows participants to explore a comprehensive approach to sustainable development, covering environmental, social, and governance aspects, while also encouraging active participation in discussions, developing analytical skills, and building relationships with key industry professionals.
We will also host some of the members of Bird & Bird’s Warsaw office team, who want to deepen their knowledge about ESG and benefit from the knowledge and experience of their colleagues. This is why the Bird & Bird ESG Academy also offers networking opportunities for all participants.
Developing a network is an integral part of our Academy, providing participants with the chance to build relationships with professionals from various fields and industries, which can yield numerous benefits both professionally and personally. Our goal is to create lasting connections that not only support development in the field of ESG but also open doors to inspiring projects and career opportunities in the world of sustainable development.
We hope that you will find our short series inspiring. Should you require any further information, please contact Sandra Sekuła-Barańska and Michał Szczepanowski.
