Sarah Ferguson has joined international law firm Bird & Bird’s Employee Incentives and Benefits (EIB) team as a partner.
Sarah, who will lead the EIB team, has almost 15 years’ experience advising a mix of listed and private companies on their executive remuneration and all-employee incentives, including the design, implementation and operation of share-based and cash-based plans, related trust and tax work, global implementation and support on large cross-border transactions.
Sarah joins Bird & Bird from a large international law firm, where she was a legal director in the Incentives team for three years and advised listed and private companies on the global incentives aspects of transactions and advisory matters. Prior to that, Sarah worked in the Employee Benefits teams of two magic circle firms, as well as spending five years at a tier-one boutique incentives firm.
Zoe Feller, head of the London Tax group at Bird & Bird, says: “Sarah’s skills make her an excellent addition to our team in London. Employee incentives is such an important area for so many of our clients, I am certain that they will benefit from her specialist knowledge, transactional expertise and practical ’can do’ attitude.”
Phil Sherrell, head of the London office at Bird & Bird adds: “I look forward to welcoming Sarah to the London team and having her support our clients on what is a key area for many of them.”
Sarah Ferguson added: “I am very pleased to be joining Bird & Bird. The firm’s Employee Incentives and Benefits group has a strong reputation, and I am looking forward to leading and growing the team.”
