Alexander Bastkær Stangerup

I am senior associate in our international HR team in Denmark, specialising and advising in labour and employment law.

At Bird & Bird, I assist businesses with all aspects of employment law issues. I previously worked at Bech-Bruun where I advised private companies on the employment law aspects in connection with M&A.

Further, I conducted litigation cases before the district courts and high courts.
I have extensive case process experience and have also worked as an external lecturer at the University of Copenhagen lecturing the mandatory subject on the master's programme, civil law procedure. I also lecture on the impact of EU legislation on the Danish employment law.

I completed my junior associate programme at Danish Industry (DI) which is the largest employers' organisation in Denmark, where I acquired great experience with interpretation and negotiation of collective agreements and dispute resolution within the labour law procedure, including arbitration.

• I have worked on and conducted a number of employment law litigations. Among other things, I have led and won a very principled professional arbitration relating to the interpretation of a working time provision in a nationwide agreement. In addition, I have provided employment law advice in connection with several extensive transactions.
