I am a senior associate in our International HR Services Group and based in The Hague.
I am a pragmatic employment lawyer with a strong understanding of employer-employee relationships. Clients come to me for practical advice on various employment related issues, mostly regarding conflict situations.
I advise our Dutch and international clients on all kinds of employment issues. Over the years, I have gained particular expertise in the field of employee representation (works councils, strikes, etc.) and corporate employment law. I also regularly write articles or annotations about these subjects.
I frequently work on interdisciplinary cases, mostly in cooperation with our corporate team, for clients in the industrial, life sciences and telecom sectors. As these cases often also have a cross-border impact, I get to work closely with colleagues from many other Bird & Bird offices and jurisdictions.
Given my experience in handling conflict situations, I am able to help clients in resolving issues as well as determining a position in case of potential litigation. As a skilled debater (which I also teach in my spare time) I am generally able to articulate my client's opinions well.
Before joining Bird & Bird in 2013, I worked for one of the largest Dutch firms, where I also gained experience in the field of liability and public procurement law.
Today, I'm a member of the editorial team of our Dutch knowledge portal BirdBuzz, and regularly publish articles on employment law issues. I am a member of the Dutch Association of Young Employment Lawyers and the Dutch Association for Employment Law.
