Claudia Castellano

I am a biomedical engineer and Italian patent attorney working for the Bird & Bird Intellectual Property Group in Milan.

I am convinced that a patent and a design, represents an important economic value for professionals, entrepreneurs and for small and medium companies that want to increase and consolidate their competitiveness in the market; therefore, my goal is to assist and support my clients to build together the most correct and appropriate strategy.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird in February 2024, I worked at an industrial and intellectual property law firm since 2015, and have been acting as a patent attorney since 2018.

I have experience in drafting and analysing new Italian and European patent applications in the technical and biomedical fields, their national and international prosecution, as well as providing strategic advice on patentability and freedom to operate (FTO) analysis.

During my professional experience, I have assisted clients as technical advisor in various legal proceedings before the Italian Courts of Naples and Turin.

I believe that my technical background combined with the skills I acquired over the years allow me to assist my clients in a very competent and efficient way.
