I am a German and European patent attorney with in-depth knowledge of electronics, physics and engineering. I work in our international Intellectual Property Group in Hamburg.
I have extensive experience in national and European patent law including prosecution and opposition and opposition appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office as well as nullity proceedings at the German Federal Patent Court and the German Supreme Court. I also advise on infringement proceedings before German patent infringement courts and provide support with patent infringement proceedings in other countries inside and outside Europe. Moreover, I provide expert opinions on patentability and infringement.
My main technical focus is on telecommunications and computer technology, including software, aviation engineering, power tool technology and medical engineering.
I am co-author of the books Haedicke/Timmann (Ed.), 'Handbuch des Patentrechts', Carl Heymanns, Cologne/Munich, 2012 and Haedicke/Timmann (Ed.), 'Patent Law', C.H. Beck/Hart/Nomos, Munich/Oxford/Baden-Baden, 2014, for which I contributed several sections including grant procedure, opposition proceedings, appeal proceedings and nullity proceedings.
I qualified with a PhD in physics from the University of Göttingen and worked for BASF before taking up a career in patent law. Today, I am a member of FICPI, GRUR, DPG, EPI, VPP, AIPPI and the Association of German Patent Attorneys.
