As specialist lawyer in employment law, I am partner in our German employment team and a member of our International HR Services Practice Group, providing in-depth insight and legal solutions to complex employment matters.
I provide legal advice to our German and international clients in matters of individual and collective employment law, particularly regarding large commercial transactions, as well as the protection of confidential information and trade secrets.
Over the last 20 years, I have gained extensive experience negotiating redundancy programmes and collective bargaining agreements, having provided advice to leading domestic and multinational companies such as TUI and Michelin in connection with the transfer of undertakings.
As member of our China Desk Germany, I also advise a number of Chinese companies on a wide range of employment law issues.
For many years, I worked as in-house counsel as head of a legal department, becoming closely acquainted with in-house company practice and gaining valuable commercial experience. Before joining our firm in 2002, I worked in employment law for another leading international law firm.
Today I often lecture on employment law issues, including at Euroforum and Beck publishing events. I have also authored numerous publications and am co-editor of the compilation of commentaries Employment Law Practice (Praxis des Arbeitsrechts) by Berscheid, Kunz, Brand and Nebeling, where I worked on the chapter on 'Change of business ownership', among others.
I am a member and examiner at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Düsseldorf, was a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management (Hochschule für Ökonomie und Management, FOM) in Essen/Düsseldorf and am currently a lecturer at the University of Public Administration (Fachhochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung NRW, FHöV) in Duisburg. I am also a past President of the UIA – the Union Internationale des Avocats.
