Etienne Guillou

I am a partner in the Tax team, based in Paris.

I am re-joining Bird & Bird, where I began my legal career in 2004 as an associate in the tax team.

I advise companies or investment funds on the tax aspects of their merger, acquisition, restructuring and investment operations. I have extensive experience of general business corporate tax aspects and advise French and international groups on their tax issues (tax consolidation, tax optimisation, taxation of financial flows, exceptional transactions, deductibility of financial expenses, tax audits). I also assist French local collectivities and public establishments, especially regarding their VAT issues (activities in competition with the private sector, subsidies, public services delegation).

I have been involved alongside companies and individuals in connection with French Tax Authorities audits and related disputes.
