I have been practising law for over twenty-five years, offering companies judicial and extrajudicial assistance in all areas of environmental law.

With over twenty-five years of experience in environmental law, as a senior associate in the administrative law and market regulation department of Bird & Bird's Rome office, I assist Italian and foreign companies in judicial and extrajudicial matters in all areas of this field.

I deal with legal issues concerning waste management, contaminated site remediation and environmental damage, environmental assessments and authorisations (A.I.A., V.I.A., A.U.A., V.A.S., VIncA), air, water, noise, odour, electromagnetic pollution, landscape and protected areas, woods and forests, public waters, energy, sustainability, climate, circular economy, ESG.

I have gained significant experience in litigation before the main courts: Court of Cassation, Council of State, Regional Administrative Courts, Higher Court of Public Waters, Constitutional Court, Court of Auditors, Criminal and Civil Courts, obtaining important rulings on waste and environmental remediation.

I have been a member of the Rome Bar Association since 2000 and have been registered in the special register of lawyers admitted to the Court of Cassation and higher courts since 2012.

I teach university master's degrees and training courses, including for lawyers, and publish in specialist journals.
Previously, I worked with leading law firms specialising in environmental law.

• Private company managing integrated waste cycle: advice on the obligations incumbent on the owner of the site to be remediated who is not responsible for the pollution;
• Public company managing waste services: consultancy on the outsourcing of waste recovery activities to private entities and separate collection rates;
• Energy sector company: consultancy on environmental impact assessments for electrical substations related to renewable energy plants;
• Public waste management company: consulting on packaging waste recovery.

• Waste management company: annulment of state measures regarding the liability of the owner of sites to be remediated and application of the 'polluter pays' principle. Court of Cassation, Joint Divisions.
• Multinational energy company in the oil & gas sector: confirmation of the legitimacy of measures excluding liability for contamination of areas under management. Sardinian Regional Administrative Court.
• Environmental company controlled by a multinational energy company: confirmation of the legitimacy of risk analysis and certification of successful remediation. Council of State.
• Public sanitation service management company: annulment of penalties relating to the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR). Court of Appeal.
• Waste incineration plant operator: annulment of numerous penalties relating to discharges into water. Civil court.
