I am a consultant in our Dispute Resolution Group in Singapore specialising in commercial and building construction litigation and arbitration involving contentious and non-contentious work. My specialisation also includes work relating to Dawn Raids and Competition Law advisory and enforcement work.
My practice includes corporate and contractual disputes, competition law, contentious advisory work, insolvency work and disputes involving construction and building contracts. Over the years, I have represented clients on a wide array of matters, including in proceedings before the Court of Appeal, the High Court of Singapore and the State Courts, as well as before local and international arbitration tribunals.
Besides being an active litigator, I have been involved in front end drafting, reviewing and vetting of contracts for the building and construction industry over 25 years. My litigation experience has assisted clients in the front end work, which I now carry out. I am able to advice and discuss with clients the risks involved and how to deal with such risks. Having had the benefit of working with and for the sectoral regulator in the drafting of contracts, including having worked on a design, build, own and operate contract has certainly given me an edge in understanding the Regulators approach on such matters. This experience I bring with me is of immense value and clients are appreciative of the extra value that I can provide. My other notable experience in this area include having reviewed and advised on risks involving obligations under the FIDIC Silver Book for a Solar project in Thailand, contracts for the building of a Tri-generation plant in Singapore and EPC contract for an LNG project in Singapore.
I have been an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore since 1991 and am both a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths.
I have also contributed a chapter on 'Investigations and Enforcement' to the 'Business Guide to Competition Law - Managing Risks', published by Sweet & Maxwell.
