Miriam Richter

As a partner in our Commercial and Automotive teams in Munich, I advise domestic and international companies on commercial law matters as well as on product liability and product safety law.

My practice includes representing clients in upstream and downstream supply chain matters, including warranty, termination, delivery stop, supply, price increase and cost recovery issues and disputes. I have a particular focus on disputes in relation to global recall and field actions, and the recourse along the supply chain. I am also specialised in negotiating, reviewing and drafting complex commercial agreements, such as purchase and warranty agreements and general terms and conditions.

I primarily work for companies in the automotive industry and regularly hold seminars on current legal topics for automotive suppliers.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked in product liability litigation and product safety regulation as an associate at an international law firm in Frankfurt.

• Obtained dismissal of claims on behalf of a Tier 1 automotive supplier in a multimillion-euro warranty and recall dispute.
• Drafted standard warranty terms and three-party-agreements for directed supply relationship on behalf of a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
• Obtained favourable settlement of price increase and cost recovery claims to compensate for volume reductions on behalf of a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
• Represented an automotive parts supplier in a termination of the supply relationship with the OEM due to closure and relocation of a plant.
