Stephen Reed

I am a consultant to our Real Estate and Commercial Groups in Sydney, where I'm a key advisor to Bird & Bird and its clients on complex commercial and property law issues. I also conduct much of the firm's private client work in Australia.

With over 45 years' legal practice experience, I offer extensive expertise in many aspects of commercial law and litigation to Bird & Bird clients, especially in relation to property and estate law, medical negligence matters and insurance claims. I regularly advise our clients on property and succession matters and have conducted litigation on behalf of clients pursuing and defending estate claims, including for high net worth individuals.

As a legal practitioner admitted in New South Wales, the ACT and Queensland, I have practised in each of those jurisdictions. This has enabled me to gain broad experience upon which the firm and its clients can draw to achieve their legal aims. I have also undertaken locum assignments arranged by the Law Society of New South Wales enabling me to gain a deep insight into a broad cross-section of legal practice.
