I am a partner and head of Tax in Helsinki, advising on domestic and international tax matters in corporate and personal income taxation. In addition, I specialise in advising private equity fund managers and fund investors on legal questions concerning private equity funds.
Understanding tax questions relating to private equity funds and M&A transactions is a key consideration when optimising profit for an investment. Working this area for more than ten years has given me the understanding of the link between the key business of the client, taxation and other legal aspects. In addition, I have been involved in several Finnish landmark tax litigations.
Prior to joining our firm, I worked for two other top-tier Finnish law firms. In addition, I have gained work experience from the M&A tax department of a big four audit firm and performed a one-year secondment as an in-house lawyer at a large Nordic private equity company.
In autumn 2021, I finished my postgraduate studies at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Law. The studies focus on the domestic and international tax and legal questions relating to the fundraising process of private equity funds. In addition, I hold a M.Sc (Econ) degree (majoring in finance) from Aalto University.
With a strong academic background, I am skilled in generating innovative solutions to complex problems emerging in practice. However, I am, most of all, a practice-oriented attorney at law, whose focus is always on achieving the business goals of the client.
