As a specialist in contentious matters, I work as a legal director in our Intellectual Property team in London, with a practice covering the full range of IP rights and focusing on patents.
I am often involved in disputes involving complex technologies, working on matters with high profile telecoms companies on both standard essential and non-essential patents.
Over the years, I have litigated patent and trade mark cases before the High Court and Court of Appeal, and also have arbitration and mediation experience. As many of the matters I deal with involve cross-border aspects, I frequently manage litigation strategy in multiple jurisdictions.
I particularly enjoy liaising with colleagues in other Bird & Bird offices, as well as other law firms, to help ensure that my clients receive strategic advice that is internationally effective. I work closely with the team that manages Pattern, our patent portfolio intelligence offering, integrating data from that tool into my advice so that my clients receive advice that is tailored to their needs.
I have been named as a rising star by Managing Intellectual Property. I was part of the team that received the Legal Business TMT Team of the Year award for our work on one of the longest and largest patent disputes in Europe.
I regularly write articles for a number of different publications and online blogs. I work with the GSMA to produce Mobile World Live's Intellectual Property portal, a new resource covering IP news for the global mobile industry.
