UP/UPC implementing legislation
Regulations in the UPC Agreement falling under the scope of legislation have been implemented by a so called blanket act. Certain amendments have also been made to the Finnish Patents Act (in accordance with the UP regulations and the UPC Agreement) and some other acts (i.e. the Code of Judicial Procedure, the Act Concerning the Safeguard of Evidence in Cases of Intellectual Property Disputes, the Criminal Code, and the Enforcement Code).
The amending acts, along with the act on the local division of the Unified Patent Court in Finland, are intended to come into force on the date of entry into force of the Agreement on the UPC. The entry into force of the acts shall be enacted by a Government decree.

Finland signed the Protocol on Privileges and Immunities (PPI) in June 2016.
Act on Protocol on Privileges and Immunities of the Unified Patent Court (also a so called blanket act) is intended to come into force in Finland as the Protocol enters into force internationally. The entry into force of the Act shall be enacted by a Government decree. The Act also includes the possibility to provide for the provisional application of the Act and the Protocol, before the international entry into force of the Protocol, by a Government decree.
