Our Nordic corporate team represents the management of Finnish healthcare and social services provider Mehiläinen Oy in the sale of and reinvestment in the company. Mehiläinen will be acquired by CVC Capital Partners Fund VII ("CVC") together with the management and a consortium of leading Finnish institutions, including LocalTapiola, Varma and Ilmarinen.
The transaction will increase Finnish ownership in the company significantly. The change in Mehiläinen ownership does not impact the company's employees, customers or business partners, and Mehiläinen's management team will continue as owners in the company. The sale is subject to regulatory approval.
Our deal team from our Helsinki and Stockholm offices included partners Jori Taipale, Mårten Willamo and Mikko Ahonen, counsels Iina-Mari Supperi and Johanna Wärnberg and associate Carl Hoffman. In addition, lawyers from across other practice groups, including partner Sami Tuominen (Tax) and counsels Tomi Luukkainen and Nora Jaari-Hakola (Employment) formed part of the team.
Mehiläinen provides healthcare and social care services everywhere in Finland with over 100 years of experience. The company has over 360 units and employs more than 14,000 healthcare and social care professionals. Mehiläinen has a long and proud history of providing high quality and customer centric healthcare and social care services in Finland.
