Bird & Bird advises Destia on the acquisition of Oulun Energia Urakointi Oy

Bird & Bird’s team in Finland has advised Destia, a leading Finnish infrastructure and construction service company on acquiring the share capital of Oulun Energia Urakointi Oy, a subsidiary of electrical network and traffic infrastructure provider Oulun Energia.



Destia has acquired the share capital of Oulun energia Urakointi Oy from Oulun Energia. As part of the transaction, the activity of Oulun Energia Urakointi Oy will be entirely transferred to Destia, including business, personnel, equipment and agreements. With the acquisition, Destia will become one of Finland’s most significant builders of energy networks.

Bird & Bird’s team was led by partner Jori Taipale (Corporate) together with senior associate Kimmo Sundqvist (Corporate). Destia is the biggest infrastructure service company in Finland. The company’s services cover the entire infrastructure life cycle from design to construction and maintenance. Destia’s revenue amounted to approximately MEUR 565 in 2020. Destia is a private company owned by Ahlström Capital Oy.
