International law firm Bird & Bird has advised ABG Real Estate Group on the re-financing of a large logistics and service centre in Kerpen.
The multimillion euro re-financing was carried out by Münchener Hypothekenbank, one of the major European property banks. It specialises in the long-term financing of residential and commercial properties in Germany and other Western European countries.
ABG is an established player in the German property market with a particular focus on large-volume projects in Germany's top economic metropolises. With an interdisciplinary team consisting of project developers, architects, lawyers and merchants, ABG pursues a holistic strategic approach that covers the entire value chain (from the conception and planning phase through to financing, completion and marketing as well as subsequent operation and management) in the life cycle of a property.
The property is located in a highly demanded logistics location in the greater Cologne area, has ideal transport links and is fully let on a long-term basis to two well-known companies from the supplier and event industry. The logistics centre, built in a modern design, comprises six flexibly usable halls and high-quality offices in a separate administration building. The property also offers around 300 car and 15 truck parking spaces and has been awarded DGNB Gold certification as a green building.
ABG was advised by the following Bird & Bird lawyers: partner Sebastian Bergenthal, LL.M. (lead) and associate Freya Ahrens (both Finance & Financial Regulation, Frankfurt).
