Agathe Steinmetz

I am an experienced French & European Trademark and Design Attorney and part of our Brand Management team in Lyon.
In my role I focus on the protection and management of the Intellectual Property rights portfolios, mainly trademarks and designs.

I have over 7 years of experience with trademark and design registration proceedings as well as litigation in different jurisdictions. Within the Bird & Bird Brand Management team I assist our diverse national, international, and multinational clients advising on the availability, registration, enforcement, and maintenance of their IP rights.
I also support our clients in setting up a global IP strategy for the registration and enforcement of their intellectual property rights.

I have represented clients from different industries before the French and European Intellectual Property Offices, both for trademark and design registration proceedings as well as refusals, oppositions, appeals and cancellations.

Together with our Brand Management Team we identify IP solutions for our clients and help them implement the most efficient ones. We stay close to our clients, ensuring fast and direct communication. We are curious and always evolving, making sure to keep our clients updated with the latest developments in the law and caselaw in the field of trademark law and intellectual property.

Before joining Bird & Bird in July 2021, I worked as an IP lawyer for a French public institution, as well as in several IP firms in Paris.
