About Me

I am a seasoned attorney situated at the Bird & Bird Düsseldorf office, with a specialisation in cybersecurity and data protection law, and a co-head of the Bird & Bird International Cybersecurity Steering Group.

Within the realm of cybersecurity, I concentrate on contractual issues and provide guidance to clients in comprehending and adhering to regulatory mandates as well as managing cybersecurity incidents. My breadth of experience encompasses advising companies operating within Germany and Europe and conducting legal evaluations of forthcoming products and services slated for market deployment.

With a wealth of experience garnered over numerous years, I have provided steadfast legal support in cybersecurity to digital service providers, technology companies and critical infrastructure operators, aiding them in readiness for evolving regulatory frameworks and leading the advice in multijurisdictional cybersecurity projects. Presently, my focus is directed in particular towards the NIS2 Directive, the Directive on the Resilience of Critical Entities, alongside their local implementations, and the Cyber Resilience Act. Additionally, I delve into sector-specific cybersecurity legislation, particularly within the life sciences and healthcare as well as automotive and aviation sectors.

My role involves guiding companies in comprehending the ramifications of the cybersecurity legislative acts on their operations facilitating their ability to navigate these regulatory landscapes effectively. Over the course of my career, I have collaborated with clients spanning diverse industries including digital infrastructure, digital services, telecommunications, transportation, life sciences and healthcare, food, and finance.

Moreover, I am actively engaged in thought leadership activities, routinely publishing articles, and delivering presentations at conferences on pertinent topics within the cybersecurity domain. Furthermore, I contribute to the academic sphere by lecturing on cybersecurity at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin).
