Estelle Henry-Mayer

As a senior counsel in our Intellectual Property Group in Lyon, I have considerable experience in IP law, advising on and managing our clients' IP asset portfolios.

I offer our clients longstanding expertise in IP, particularly in the legal validation of marketing projects, through availability searches and buying out trademarks, and in protection by filing and developing IP strategy.

In my practice, I advise companies on the daily management of their trademark and design portfolios, involving, amongst other things, making availability searches, supervising the filing, the renewal and the recordal of trademarks and designs made by our paralegals, advising clients concerning trademark and design strategy. I also make audits.

I also advise clients in relation to pre litigation involving intellectual property (trademarks and designs, copyright) issues, including negotiating and managing opposition proceedings and all other proceedings before the French office and the EUIPO. I also advise on defence matters, through claims and oppositions, specifically in trademarks, designs and models and domain names.

I work in close cooperation with Bird & Bird offices abroad to protect the French client's IP interests. Furthermore, I assist the foreign offices and notably Bird & Bird UK, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Singapore to manage IP matters in France.

Before joining Bird & Bird in 2015, I worked as a legal advisor in IP for a French group in the food sector, as an industrial property attorney in a consulting firm, and finally as a lawyer in a French law firm in Lyon.
