I am a senior associate focusing on providing data-driven legal advice as part of the Pattern team, Bird & Bird's patent intelligence consultancy.

As a senior associate in the Pattern team, I specialise in patent portfolio analytics, valuation and landscaping, and both the legal and analytical aspects of royalty rate determinations and multi-jurisdictional patent disputes, predominantly in the electronics and telecommunication sectors.

The Pattern offering relies on a unique blend of legal knowledge and analytical skills to assist clients with managing and enforcing their patent portfolios or defending themselves from enforcement actions. We utilise data-driven analytical and economic methodologies, cutting-edge technology and court-approved principles to generate robust and defensible results.

Pattern has been recognised by several innovation awards since its launch, including: (i) 'Future of Legal Services Innovation' in the LegalWeek Innovation Awards 2019; (ii) 'Legal Technology Team of the Year' in the Legal Business Awards 2019; and (iii) 'Standout Innovation' in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers award 2018.

I am also a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney (as well as a UPC representative) with significant experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a wide range of sectors, including automotive, medical devices, artificial intelligence and machine learning, human–machine interfaces, and optical and imaging systems. I also have experience in third-party observations, oppositions, and conducting oral proceedings before the EPO.
