Ivo Ijzerman

Working in our Dutch tax team, I am an associate advising on a variety of tax issues, both domestic and international.

I am an all-round tax adviser and qualified lawyer, but I mainly focus on corporate income tax, dividend withholding tax and VAT issues. Additionally, I have a special focus on tax litigation and tax disputes.

Tax law is a dynamic working field and almost every person or company has to deal with taxes. That is reflected in the clients I have assisted over the past years, which vary from individuals to large multinational companies. Since joining Bird & Bird in 2015, the broad range and variety of clients have helped me develop a strong sense for our client's needs. The fact that I am familiar with various different taxes makes me well-equipped to spot risks and opportunities for clients that would otherwise perhaps remain unnoticed. Also, in the course of my tax advisory and litigation work, I have obtained useful contacts with the Dutch tax authorities.

I regularly publish articles and commentaries, especially in the fields of corporate income tax and procedural tax law.
