Julian Ferguson

I am a lawyer in our Technology and Communications Group in Sydney.

With a unique blend of experiences in private practice, non-profit organisations, and the tertiary sector, I advise a wide range of clients on various legal matters. My expertise extends beyond Technology and Communications to Intellectual Property Litigation and Transactional work.

I pursued law to leverage my communications experience and aim to provide clients with practical solutions to complex legal issues.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked in communications, marketing, and event management, including roles at two top-ranked universities in New South Wales and international music festivals. I also have significant experience in the non-profit sector in Australia and abroad, serving as the Marketing & Communications Manager for South Australia's leading recreational cycling body, and in Communications for Europe's top recreational cycling body in Brussels, Belgium.

I hold degrees in International Studies (Arts) and Law. Outside of work, I enjoy playing folk music and have toured in Australia and overseas at renowned festivals such as the Edinburgh Fringe, WOMAD, and Rudolstadt.
