Lionel Berthelet

Since joining Bird & Bird back in 2009, I have advised on all types of corporate transactions for clients ranging from domestic SMEs to multinationals.

I began my legal career in Luxembourg, where I was mainly involved in private equity transactions for investment funds, as well as structuring groups with a European reach. I am admitted to practice as an attorney in France.

I joined Bird & Bird as an associate and was promoted to counsel. At the firm, I have strengthened my private equity abilities assisting both companies and investment funds and corporate venture funds, and I have also built-up significant expertise in M&A transactions.

Over the years, I have developed a diverse client base from start-ups operating in the digital sector, to listed corporations in the automotive or home appliances industry. This diversity enables me to develop listening skills and be adaptable in order to meet each client's expectations.
