I'm a senior associate in the Intellectual Property Group based in London. I have experience in a broad range of intellectual property matters, from large-scale patent litigation to smaller brand-enforcement matters.
I have been fortunate enough to have been involved in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, principally concerning patents, trade marks and copyright.
In my time at Bird & Bird I have worked with clients across a variety of sectors including IT and telecommunications, retail and consumer, and media and entertainment. I therefore understand how to tailor my work-product to the type of business I am acting for and the type of instruction given. A detailed legal report spanning a significant number of pages might be welcomed by a large company seeking an in-depth analysis of its areas of risk, but it is unlikely to impress a smaller company with budget constraints who simply want to get the job done.
Many of the matters on which I work involve a cross-border element, which I particularly enjoy. I have a good relationship with our international colleagues and understand the nuances between different jurisdictions' approach to solving problems. I can therefore co-ordinate the delivery of international advice in a way that is easily digestible and efficient.
I also contribute to various legal publications including the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and our 'DesignWrites' and 'MediaWrites' publications.
