Martina Waliczková

As an associate based in our Prague office, I work with both the Corporate and Finance & Financial Regulation teams.

I specialise in corporate and M&A law with a particular focus on the financial aspects of individual transactions. In addition, I have valuable experience in the automotive industry where I had an opportunity to advise our clients on various supply chain matters.

Since joining Bird & Bird in 2017, I've been involved in many M&A transactions and due diligence projects. I often provide advice on strategic investor entries, as well as assistance to clients interested in running new projects or seeking continued expansion during the complex process of establishing a business in the Czech Republic (including advice on the most appropriate form of business and analysis of potential legal and commercial consequences).

Over the past years I've also developed a reasonable knowledge of other relevant areas of law, especially intellectual property law. My experience in IP relates mainly to trademarks, copyright, unfair competition and dispute resolution. I am also devoted to IP law outside the office as I am conducting doctoral research on the relationship and conflicts between trademarks and unfair competition. I am an author of several articles published in legal magazines in the Czech Republic.

I speak Czech, English and conversational German.
