I am a partner and head in Bird & Bird's International HR Services department in the Madrid office.
I am a labour lawyer with an international vocation and a practical approach to help our clients solve their problems.
Since 2011, I head Bird & Bird's International Employment and Human Resources practice in Spain, leading a versatile practice that covers most areas of employment law, including the hiring and termination of employees and senior management, advising on the employment aspects of M&A and commercial and outsourcing service agreements, advising on the implementation of restructuring and redundancy plans, or collective bargaining with trade unions and workers' representatives.
Contentious matters also form an important part of my work, as I regularly represent our clients before the Spanish Courts and Tribunals, from first instance to the Supreme Court.
Putting ourselves in our clients' shoes' is the golden rule we try to apply to every case we deal with. For this reason we prefer to avoid long, theoretical and complex emails, in order to provide clear and pragmatic solutions, taking into account not only the legal aspects of a given matter, but also the real needs derived from our clients' business.
Working at Bird & Bird provides me with a unique opportunity to work constantly with clients and colleagues from all over the world; more than 50% of our work has an international component.
In recent years I have been fortunate to have been involved in some of the most interesting cases in the area of employment law, such as ground-breaking rulings on senior management compensation rights, or incredibly complex restructuring cases involving hundreds of employees. We have also worked in a number of sectors that we have come to know in depth, such as the pharmaceutical sector, technology companies, or aviation companies.
