Nicole Liang

I am an associate in our Intellectual Property team based in Hong Kong. I have experience in assisting clients on different non-contentious and contentious IP matters at the Trade Marks Registry and the High Court of Hong Kong SAR.

My practice focuses on brand protection, management and enforcement. I have assisted both local and multinational companies in consumer & retail, beauty & entertainment, luxury & fashion, food & beverage, arts & cultural, transportation, and real estate sectors on global brand protection and portfolio management.

I regularly assist and advise clients on intellectual property protection, anti-counterfeiting and litigation strategy covering: trade marks, copyright, passing-off, domain name disputes, and company name infringement. I also advise on commercial agreements pertaining to IP rights (including but not limited to assignment and licence agreements), IP due diligence in commercial transactions, IP infringement, criminal enforcement of trade mark and copyright through Customs, advertising, consumer products, and marketing-related matters.

I am fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

For me, the most enjoyable part of being a lawyer is the ability to meet with people from different industries and to be engaged in a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment, with the opportunity to engage with complex legal issues, whilst allowing for continuous learning and adaptation as the legal landscape continuously evolves.
