Pablo Rodríguez Sousa

I am an associate in Bird & Bird's Competition Group in Madrid, providing advice on EU and Spanish competition law.

As part of the Competition team, my practice covers all aspects of competition law, including abuse of dominance, cartel investigations, merger control, foreign direct investment proceedings, and strategic commercial agreements such as supply contracts, subcontracting arrangements, exclusive and selective distribution, and franchise agreements.

I have been involved in complex multi-jurisdictional merger control and FDI filings and I regularly assist clients on the design and implementation of compliance strategies and programmes on competition matters.

As part of my work, I advise leading companies across a broad range of sectors, including telecoms, retail & consumer, and defence & security.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird in 2024, I worked for the Legal Service of the Spanish Competition and Markets Authority.
