I work as a senior associate in our energy and utilities team in Düsseldorf and am also a member of our regulatory and administrative team, offering our clients my extensive expertise in the energy, environmental and regulatory sectors.
Understanding the challenges faced by clients in a highly regulated and politically-influenced space, I work closely with our national and international clients on energy, regulatory, state-aid and environmental law as well as issues arising from public commercial law. I also have broad expertise in European and administrative law.
I advise on projects in conventional and renewable energy, including planning and permit procedures for extra-high-voltage lines, gas storage, pipelines and other energy infrastructure, as well as on legal issues ranging from energy production and trade to transportation and distribution.
With extensive experience in the national and pan-European aspects of regulation, grid concession, grid access, grid connection, grid fees and unbundling, I represent our clients before the Federal Network Agency, government ministries and regulators in diverse administrative, regulatory and legislative proceedings, and before national and European courts and in arbitration proceedings.
I have also advised on the transposition of European law, such as the Third Internal Market Package and on environmental directives and regulations including REMIT, MIFID, WEEE and ROHS.
I am a regular contributor to online legal publications and speak at industry conferences.
