As a Senior Associate in our Competition and Regulatory Groups in Amsterdam and The Hague, I specialise in competition, public procurement and energy regulatory matters, with a focus on the tech & comms and energy & utilities sectors.
I advise on competition compliance, vertical agreements, horizontal cooperation such as sustainability initiatives, competition law enforcement / investigations and merger control. Furthermore, I am regularly involved in (cross-border) transactions from a foreign direct investment (FDI) perspective, carrying out the analysis and – where necessary – submitting an FDI notification. From an energy perspective, I advise on renewable energy projects, wholesale energy markets, the regulatory framework and the energy transition.
As a member of our Competition, Tech & Comms and Energy & Utilities Groups, I have a strong focus on regulated markets and am an expert in the field of competition law, public procurement and regulatory matters. I have also gained valuable experience by being seconded to clients active in the energy sector, which greatly benefitted my development as a lawyer and understanding the client's needs.
Before my legal education, I studied at the Dutch National Ballet School for eight years and later lived and studied in London for three years, where I graduated from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre. I take this experience with me in my legal career since perseverance, discipline and precision are key elements that I learnt from a young age. It also allows me to think outside the box and provide creative solutions to clients.
I am a member of the Dutch Competition Law Association (VvM), the Dutch Association for Investment Screening (VvI), the Dutch Energy Law Association (NeVER) and the Dutch Administrative Law Association (VAR).
